Rishiraj specializes in health sensing, developing systems that facilitate a paradigm shift from reactive to proactive healthcare. To achieve this, he leverages an interdisciplinary toolkit of signal processing, machine learning, and embedded systems. Rishiraj obtained his PhD in Computer Science from IIT Gandhinagar in January 2025, specializing in Ubiquitous Computing. His research has been featured in publications such as ACM IMWUT, ACM HEALTH, ACM CSCW, and Ubicomp/ISWC. He was a finalist for the UbiComp Gaetano Borriello Outstanding Student Award (2023). Rishiraj had the privilege of being a Fulbright Visiting Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University’s SMASH Lab and received support for his research through the Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship. His PhD advisor was Nipun Batra. Post PhD, he spent 1.5 years as a Research Data Scientist at JioThings, Reliance Industries.
